BrainTrainerPlus™ for Reyerheem nursing home
January 25, 2011
Since last Wednesday, 12th January, Aafje nursing home in Reyerheem have been the proud owner of a BrainTrainerPlus™ from Qiosq. It allows residents to train memory, hand-eye coordination and reaction skills.
The BrainTrainerPlus™ could be purchased through the funds raised by the successful flea market held last November. This is partly due to the locals who flocked to the Reyerheem flea market. The department Guest Friendly Encounter of Aafje proposed additional available funding.
Aafje already has a BrainTrainerPlus™ but this older version is on rotation between different locations. Reyerheem residential care centre now has its own model where residents have been making good use of it since the 12th of January.
The BrainTrainerPlus™ is a user friendly touch screen computer that offers games such as memory quizzes and puzzles. Fun and relaxation are foremost, but it is also very useful. The games focus mainly on activating of memory and training computational skills, hand-eye coordination and response. As long as it’s possible to remain active and independent, it is important to continue this training. The BrainTrainerPlus™ can also be used by individuals or groups. This is good for teamwork and mutual contact.
