BrainTrainerPlus™ triggers elderly to mental gymnastics
Vivium care group: De Stichtse Hof
De Stichtse Hof gets three Brain Trainers from the ‘Friends of De Stichtse Hof’ foundation! These are computers that can be used for memory training.
The BrainTrainerPlus™ was developed by Qiosq in collaboration with Frankeland nursing home in Rotterdam. The positive experience is central: training and games provide a beneficial form of relaxation. Initial experience shows that playing on the BrainTrainerPlus™ keeps older minds sharp and stimulates the mind.
The accessibility of the BrainTrainerPlus ™ takes away any fears of computers. Older people can work independently on this console to trigger their memory. The BrainTrainerPlus ™ stimulates numeracy, spatial awareness, the hand-eye coordination and responsiveness simultaneously.
The games are questions and processed images which relate to current events and the past. This invites the program to talk quietly in response to questions. You can even include family or guardians memories or photos.
The pace of the BrainTrainerPlus™ can be set individually. The game registers the individual results, but the games are not focused on winning.
